I have always believed that the Internet is one of the greatest human inventions of our time. It has connected us in ways we are still figuring out. I find myself drawn to it. I want to see what is happening in the world in real time. I want to be part of the conversation.
Some people blame the Internet for their anxiety or unhappiness. I think that says more about them than it does about the Internet. If you know who you are and have a strong mind, the Internet is not a threat. It is an opportunity.
Now we are adding Artificial Intelligence to the mix and things are moving even faster. If the Internet is humanity’s brain, AI is becoming its ability to think, to reason, and to create. It can sift through oceans of information in seconds and give you something new.
When the Internet first came along people thought it was a fad. Now it is the foundation of our lives. The same doubts are being thrown at AI. Yes there are risks. There are risks with everything. But that does not mean you turn away from it. You learn it. You use it. You shape it.
The Internet and AI together are pushing human progress at a speed that is hard to keep up with. Medical breakthroughs, engineering feats, new art forms, new ideas. They are all happening faster because of this combination.
There is a dark side. The Internet gave rise to misinformation, privacy concerns, and toxic online behavior. AI will have its own challenges like bias and misuse. But hiding from it will not save you. The way forward is to engage with it and guide it in a way that benefits humanity.
The Internet made it possible to access all the knowledge in the world. AI is making it possible to use that knowledge in new and powerful ways. This is history in the making. It is worth paying attention to.
The best approach is to stay curious, stay open, and adapt. The ones who thrive in this new world will be the ones who know how to work with these forces instead of fighting them.
